 "Great product, great deal" 2010-02-08
By Catherine L. Wencke (Tahoe City, CA)
I bought this for my daughter for Christmas, and she loves it. It was really great to be able to get all the necessary accessories in one package instead of trying to find everything separately. It would have definitely cost more to do that, and I would not have bought all the items. She has everything she needs (and then some).

Also, to speak of the quality of the Kodak Easyshare product, I bought one of these cameras for my oldest son a few years ago. He had carried the camera in a jacket pocket and realized after visiting one weekend that it had fallen out while he was clearing some snow in the yard. We looked for it but couldn't find it. One day I heard the plow guy clearing the spot where my son had parked and thought he lost the camera. I heard a sound like a rock being picked up by his blower machinery and thrown into another part of the year with deep snow. Months later, after all the snow had melted, it turned out we found the camera in that part of the yard with a few scratches. After it dried, he turned it on and it worked perfectly, with all the pictures still on the memory card. He still has the camera today and it takes great pictures!

I would definitely recommend this product!

Eastman Kodak Company today announced the Kodak EasyShare P712 zoom digital camera, setting a new performance benchmark for the consumer "superzoom" category. Its precision autofocus system with best-in-class click-to-capture rate--literally faster than the blink of an eye, at just 1/10th of a second--helps photographers get the exact shots they want, whether action on a sports field, birds in flight, or children on the playground. The Kodak EasyShare P712 camera features a 12x (36-432 mm equivalent), image-stabilized, f2.8-f3.7 Schneider-Kreauznach Variogon lens that delivers exquisite detail and sharpness. Its 7.1-megapixel sensor is paired with legendary Kodak Color Science image processing for spectacular, highly accurate color - shot after shot.Optical image stabilization provides a two-stop advantage over non-image stabilized systems for better capturing subjects in low light for both stills and video. It also minimizes handheld camera shake at longer focal lengths, which is ideal while photographing sporting events and during everyday picture taking when carrying a stabilizing device is impractical.

 "My P850 Killer" 2008-09-04
By S. Reddick (Newark, NJ United States)
Yes I bought this one too. Then sold my P850 very soon after. Read my review for the P850 http://www.amazon.com/review/R18JLYOTY8JU4U/ref=cm_cr_rev_detup_redir?%5Fencoding=UTF8&cdPage=1&newContentID=Mx2CXEXVNFXORIW#Mx2VXWDT72Y2HQF

then double it. That's how I feel about this camera. Superb picture quality, faster focus, better low light performance and Raw burst mode. An overal better camera than the previous model. I just wish that the internal buffer was larger and the write speed was faster. But

 "Kodak P712" 2008-03-18
By Paul M. Falabella (Garden City,NY)
This is the third Kodak Digital camera I have owned and the best yet. The problem with past digital cameras, not just Kodak, was shutter lag. Press the shutter and the camera shot the picture a moment later. Not good for action shots.

The Kodak P712 shutter is nearly instantaneous, like a film camera. The 12X zoom is a great feature as well.

The only down side to this camera is the zoom is a little noisy. A small price to pay for a great camera.

Never had a problem with a Kodak camera. Nice to know American quality can build a product to compete with imports.

 "Great Camera!" 2007-12-08
By Jon Almada (Shingle Springs, CA USA)
I own the P712 and have had mine since July 2007. This camera is rugged and a real performer. I originally started with a Z740 Kodak point and shoot and moved up to the P712 because of the good results I had with my Z740. The accessory lenses (55mm) I had purchased for the Z740 worked just fine with the P712 and I've been doing a huge amount of macro photography with the new set up.

I do note that in movie mode, the motor noise of this camera is very noticeable, but luckily, that is a rare mode I select with this bridge camera. The battery life is somewhere around 250 - 270 shots per charge and I did buy a second battery to keep me shooting for extended day photo shoots.

The menus are easy to understand and I've been pleased with the image stabilization. I do recommend that you get a nice tripod set and beanbag for macro work, since even the image stabilization is overcome by camera shake at the magnification levels needed for macro shots.

I did purchase the flash attachment specifically for this camera and was very pleased with the results. All in all, a very good purchase and one I have no regrets about. My only wish is that Kodak will bring back it's professional line and focus on building high-end DSLR cameras since I've become loyal to the brand and think the world of the cameras I have purchased from them.

I recommend the P712 for the user who isn't quite ready for a DSLR and who wants enough control over photographs to do interesting work and yet still has the benefit of automation of exposure working for you.

The P712 is a good camera and worth every penny! Buy it!

 "Kodak Easyshare P712" 2007-11-03
By S. Rogers (Ohio)
This is a great digital camera. It's light weight and the 2.5 LCD screen is a super size for me. I don't know a lot about digital camera's, but I know that I really like this one. I enjoy taking a lot of pictures, and I mainly take them in 'auto' mode. But this super camera has so many optional modes. I'm a little shaky so I really like the fact that it has the 'stabilizer'. I also bought the 'wide angle zoom' lens and had to buy the Kodak Adaptor for it. I wanted to zoom a little further than the impressionable 12x zoom aloud me. This is quite a unique camera and I truly enjoy using it.
