 "Don't waste your money!" 2010-02-05
By Adrienne K. Weighall (Bakersfield, CA United States)
We bought this camera for our 7-year-old last year for Christmas. We wanted to find a camera that was not too expensive so it wouldn't be a big tragedy if it got broken. The flash stopped working about three months after we had it. When we finally got around to sending it in, they fixed the flash and sent it back and now it won't take videos. When you turn it to video mode and push the shutter button, it takes a picture. The picture quality is bad, too. The pictures aren't as good as my first digital camera, which was a Canon 3 megapixel or my second, which was a Fuji 5 megapixel. I don't understand why they can't take that older technology and make a really good inexpensive camera for kids! Most people don't need 8 megapixels (or more) anyway, and what good is a bigger picture if it looks like crap? The Fisher-Price kids cameras with the big rubber case take such bad pictures that they are not even worth buying, in my opion. How is that fun for kids? They want to be able to take pictures like mom does. This camera was a real disappointment.

 "Easy to use" 2010-01-23

Bought this for my Mom who knows nothing about anything digital. So easy to use and takes very nice pictures. It's a little bulky but for an easy point and shoot it's great.

"A great little camera for children and adults" 2009-12-27
By sun's mom (US)
I was given this camera a year ago and have had it in my purse ever since so I won't miss a special moment. It is a great camera for those who don't want to fuss with lens settings etc. It does all the work for you and has many options that are all built in and are easy to use. I bought one for a 76 year old friend and my niece bought one for her seven year old daughter. We are all enjoying terrific pictures with little effort. This camera does not take good night pictures of lights [like Christmas] but fulfills all my other needs year round. Two things I would suggest purchasing are Lithium batteries as Alkaline are not long lasting in the camera,[copper tops don't work well at all], and a larger SD card. The lithium batteries I put in last year are still going strong and I purchased a card for a few dollars on line which holds 300 pictures. There are extras included with the camera that make it even more enjoyable. Look around the internet and you can find it for around $80.00 new. A later model is now out, but I found that this was the better of the two for me.

 "Kodak C813 Camera" 2009-11-23
By David L Southworth (Florida, USA)
Just got back from a trip to California and back to Florida, took 800+ photos. All turned out exceptionally good. This camera took about 300 photos (none w/flash) just on the rechargeable battery pack (about $9 or $10) and I had two AA cells in a case as back up. It took photos inside very dark Spanish cathedrals because of the great 1250 ISO rating. I took lots of photos from the car window while moving and they turned out very clear and any street signs were very readable. I simply connect the camera to the computer with the USB cord and the camera shows up as another drive, so then I just copy/paste photos from the camera to the computer. Also I can use the included Kodak software for transfer but I prefer the simpler copy/paste. The camera has no problem showing up as another drive (much like a flash drive added to the computer USB port). If you copy/paste photos they are all numbered serially to help keep them in order for viewing if you should add them to a viewing program. The only minor problem is that in a very bright outdoors environment it is somewhat difficult to view the area to be included in the photo, but certainly not impossible, not a problem for me but maybe for others. This is a very easy to use camera; when I wanted someone to take a photo for me I just asked they push and hold the button for a second or two and no one had any problem taking a good photo. The simplicity of photo taking is a real advantage as I could pull the camera from my pocket and snap a photo in seconds, then review it to see if I needed to take another photo; if so, I snapped the next photo within 5 or 10 seconds. I have the recharging/printing dock also which is really helpful; keeps the rechargeable battery always fully charged and camera ready to go anytime. Photos printed from the dock look just like from any photo shop w/excellent color.
