I purchased this camera after doing a lot of research. I am a kodak user so i was aware about the quality of the product. Few things which i was looking for were Megapixals, Zooming capacity, Modes (Auto, Manual, and Program) and also the price. I found this camera on amazon and bought it immediately. This is a 14 mp camera with 5x optical zoom. It comes with Auto, Manual, and Program Modes. It is really compact and is very good companion in case of travel. The camera is full of features and is very affordable.
I am not a professional but i love to take photos and i have tried all the different settings to understand this camera in a better way. For people who have a good sense of photography, they can have great pictures with this camera b'coz it provides you a chance to select your own mode. You can use Auto mode which is great for beginners or the people who just wants to take photos without breaking their heads. Manual & Program Mode is good for more advanced people and It works really great in both the modes. It also lets you capture the video in HD mode which is really good. You can check out this link for results ([...]). I took this video with this camera and it came out really nice even though i was a bit shaky b'coz of the cold ;). Unlike most of the other cameras you can use the zoom during the video mode which is a plus point.
Usually picture comes out very nice but basically it depends upon an individual. If used with proper settings, it can produce great results but if not then it will make you cry. This condition is applicable to all other cameras of the similar categories. There is a High ISO mode for taking pictures with very low light conditions but i have not used it till now. This cameras offers around 17 scenery modes which can be used with ease. The only thing that made me sad was that kodak did not offer a charger with this camera. I spent another 25 bucks for the rechargeable battery & charger. But the total cost of the camera & charger is still very less compared to other cameras with all these features. I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this camera to anyone who wants more than the usual camera within a reasonable range.2010-01-07

This is a great little camera for the money. In fact, I liked it so much that I bought a 2nd one for a Christmas present for a family member. He also loves it. My wife likes it because it is so simple to use. Within 5 minutes she was taking pictures like a pro. The pictures are great with the exception of the panoramic shots. The camera is supposed to stitch them together but it doesn't do it well at all. The only negative thing about this camera is that it does not have a viewfinder. That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. When in sunlight, it is very difficult to see the LCD screen. But, if you just point and shoot, you usually get a pretty good picture. A viewfinder would solve this problem.2010-01-01

My previous Kodak CX7530 has not been keeping a charge so I needed a back-up camera for traveling. I was not so interested in the 14MP but wanted a strong zoom feature. My son has the z812 which I borrowed and loved but I couldn't afford one.
When Amazon had this camera on sale for $99 I couldn't pass it up. It is actually smaller than the CX. My complaint would be that the on/off button is very tiny.
I also hate the software for both cameras and prefer using Adobe. When I wanted to download pictures with USB, I actually spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone with tech support and was so frustrated I was about to return it. I solved the problem by just inserting the SD card into my computer which activated the Adobe download. For general picture taking I am happy that you can select a lower MP so that they are easier to edit and send. When I want 14mp I have it.
I am an artist and take photos of my oil paintings. This camera is awesome in capturing the detail and colors. I am just learning about all the functions in the menu. I would say the instruction booklet is minimal so will have to spend extra time with the on-board help. For stills it is a superb camera. For video, the one I took at Christmas was awful. I have purchased the rechargable KLIC-8000 with battery charger and a 2GB SD card so will see how these work down the road.
