 "Great for the price" 2010-01-10
By Josh A. Goldfoot (Arlington, VA United States)
This thing is fast; shutter lag is not nearly as much of a problem with the Nikon Coolpix I bought in 2005. The ability to set your own shutter speed and F-stop is unusual at a camera at this price level. It also lasts much longer on two AA batteries than I have grown to expect from digital cameras. The only criticism is that it is a bit heavy; it won't fit easily in a pocket. But, the extra bulk is a fine tradeoff for the low price and all the thoughtful and careful engineering packed into this camera.

"Quit working within 24 hours." 2009-12-29
By Robert C. Sharp
This item worked fine the first night (Christmas Eve) for the wife to take pictures of our Grand kids opening gifts. The next morning the cameras flash just quit working. Tried everything on Kodak site to get it to work nothing, It's broke. Called Kodak and talked to a service rep and he agreed it was broke. I know things like this happen but to add insult Kodak wants me to pay shipping to send it to their service center. Thats BS. I have had several Kodaks before and have always had good luck with them but probably won't buy any more if this is the way they do their customers. AMAZON is great shipped item fast and I will continue to order from AMAZON but just not Kodak items.

"Slightly Blurred Pictures in Auto Mode" 2009-12-21
By Anthony (Cleveland, Ohio)
I was expecting this camera to produce sharp pictures with the added bonus of the 10x optical zoom lens. The majority of pictures I took came out slightly blurred, especially indoors. I checked to make sure image stabilization was on, which it was. The only way I could get a good picture was to play with the manual controls and that method only produced mixed results. I have already shipped this camera back. I bought another camera at the same time as a gift. It is a Canon PowerShot SD1200IS. It is the same price as the Kodak Z915. It is an awesome little camera. The Pictures are sharp right out of the box in auto mode. It quickly focuses as opposed to the Z915, which took 2 seconds to focus every time you zoomed in.

Do yourself a favor and don't fall for the 10x optical zoom like I did. The Z915 is a cheap camera that someone at Kodak stuck a 10x optical zoom lens on.

 "Poor quality camera." 2009-12-17
By David A. Lefurgey (Hudson Falls, NY USA)
The Kodak Z915 seemed to be just the camera I was looking for until I got it. It is a "plastic fantastic." To hold in in your hand is to be afraid to drop it and see it smashed to pieces. I do not like that it has no optical viewfinder, only the screen. I should have caught that before I purchased it. My greatest concern is that the audio that one records with the video is barely audible -- if you can hear it at all -- through the camera. This is a design problem in the camera. Who paid those engineers to design this flaw into the camera? One can even check the Z915s in the store and discover this. When I called Kodak, they just ran be through the menu and said their was nothing they could do. Shame on you Kodak. I had to send it back to the Amazon Marketplace seller to have them exchange it. The new camera is the same as the old. I wouldn't purchase this camera again, and it is too much of a hassle to keep sending it back -- for what? I will wrap it up and give it to someone as a Christmas gift. MERRY CHRISTMAS.

 "nice camera" 2009-12-12
By Gary J. Bipes (Mn)
THIS IS A NICE CAMERA , I JUST SAW THE UPGRADE MODEL, AT SAMS FOR THE PRICE OF 200.00 AND IT WAS A 12 MEG, i LIKE THIS ONE . ONLY THING IS YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE AND HOLD THE BUTTON FOR A SEC, TO FOCUS. I GOT CAUGHT SHOOTING AND NOT HAVE IT IN FOCUS. LEARNING TO CK THE GREEN BOX FIRST. LITTLE BIT FRUSTRATING. i MAY HAVE TO LOOK AT THE BOOK. ALSO THE NEW MODEL HAS A LARGER SCREEN FOR VIEWING. AND 12 MEG LIKE I SAID. I may have to try amazon and see if they have a referb model. I think I would have got that one . always somethig better after you pick one up . That is progress, for the price amazon sells , just go and watch for the next model , they seem to have the best price, got to E bay and play but YOU can order for the best price right on amazon, and not spend time bidding. Can't really beat AMAZON . they do the best. I don't even look at E BAY much any more.OH i do aerial phot work withthe kodak. I am a somewhat pro photographer ,. I did army NAM combat photo, I carry the kodak on my belt so it is with me all the time. and it does good work. I have 3 flat cameras also. but the Kodak looked nice. thanks
